Review: "The Island" is ENTERTAINING, AND KINDA SCARY

Just saw "The Island." Michael Bay is one of my favorite directors. However the ones that I consider his best are of course the original “Got Milk” commercial, “Bad Boys” “The Rock” and “Bad Boys 2.” “The Island” was all right. It was not spectacular as far as the action is concerned. The premise though was what was great, and no I'm not talking about the whole island thing cause that was pretty stupid. I'm talking about cloning people for parts. I had this idea a long time ago as I'm sure many people have, I'm glad someone made this movie because that means I now don’t need to make it now. :- )

The whole bit about the cloning was very scary and this is what I feel made the movie. There are a couple of scenes that make you cringe with fear because we all know this is coming.

I don’t know if they were shooting in HD or not but 60% of this movie is completely out of focus. And 90% of all the action scenes are way to shaky hand-held to tell what was going on. I hate it when they do this. I have realized though that Bay has a talent for making cars look like they are traveling a thousand miles per hour. All in all it was entertaining, not dazzling, but entertaining, and a bit scary.

By the way there are a bit of storyboards on the yahoo page. I love storyboards. Check em out.
